Donard Glen Camogie Club are currently enrolling players for the 2020 season. Our club caters for players of all ages from the very young to adult. We are currently Wicklow Senior Camogie Champions for 2019. We welcome all girls and cater for new players. Our registration day is on Saturday February 8th from 10:30am to 12:00 noon in our club rooms in St Kevin’s Community College Dunlavin. Registration fee is €30 for under age players. Sympathy is extended to the Morrin family on the death of Anna last week. Anna is mourned by husband Liam, sons Ross and Jamie, daughter Ashling, brother Liam and sisters Jayne and Susan. Anna’s funeral took place in Newbridge. May she rest in peace.
Sympathy is also extended to Hilary Edghill and family on the death of her father Simon Powell. Simon’s funeral service took place in Birr. May he rest in peace.

I am writing to thank everyone who was part of the Christmas card project, in Dunlavin : Health Centre, Pharmacy, Parish Office, Centra; O’Keeffe’s family store Donard; Daly’s Hollywood; Berney’s Pharmacy Kilcullen; MeGreal’s Pharmacy Blessington; Murphy Sherrin Vetinary, Baltinglass and Bergin’s Pharmacy, Newbridge. Through sales, of cards €1,500 has been raised for research into Friedreich’s Ataxia. A further €500 was donated. The Murtagh family, Market Square, Dunlavin and their extended family and friends organised a “Drinks & Nibbles” at the Dunlavin St Stephen’s day hunt and €1,955 was raised. This turned out into a great social occasion and as the hunt riders, family, friends and on lookers mingled. The Kearney family, Dunlavin are grateful to all who helped in any way with these projects. The money goes directly to a laboratory carrying out the research.
West Wicklow Historical Society
In 2020 the West Wicklow Historical Society is celebrating 40 years promoting local history. Founded in 1980, the WWHS concentrates mainly on the four western baronies of Co. Wicklow as well as adjacent areas of Carlow and Kildare. A full line-up of events is planned for the year. The Spring lecture programme is as follows.

Heritage Award Nominations
Dunlavin & District Forum is thrilled to be nominated for a National Heritage Award for its Programme of Heritage Week events last August.
Always nice to be recognised for our efforts. Eleven groups have made the shortlist, what an honour to be part of it. The project focused on making Heritage Week a cross-community event, by bringing together community groups from all walks of life with the common purpose of hosting events to highlight the built, natural and cultural heritage of the local Dunlavin community.
Events included nature, sport, art and music workshops for children, family nature walks, scavenger hunts, historical walks and talks, and an exhibition of Dunlavin’s GAA memorabilia.

Every Thursday morning we meet in An LAR to draw mandalas , paint tiles or create patterns .We use pencils ,paints ,markers ,compasses all under the guidance of Bernie Sheridan from Wexford.She supplies the materials . Family Carers Ireland
Family Carers Ireland are seeking volunteers in Dunlavin and the surrounding area to give 1 o 2 hours a week to visit an elderly person in their own home who are experiencing loneliness and isolation.
