Tai Chi &Qi Gong Classes

Tai Chi &Qi Gong Classes on Wednesday evenings 7 –8 pm in the Aughrim sports and leisure centre. Beginners welcome. 

Learn gentle flowing healing movements that help to relieve stress, improve flexibility and mobility.

I am delighted to offer a brand new class in Aughrim – Qi Gong (Specific ) which incorporates the beautiful Crane Method and the Taoist Yoga System  starting on Tuesday  February 11th 8-9 pm. This is a powerfully healing practice which helps to relieve stress from the nervous system and enhance the health of the whole body and develops your being.  Venue: Aughrim Sports and Leisure Centre.   The cost is €80 for a block of 8 classes.

Community Games

Our area activities are busy with art handwriting and quiz in the schools. The County Wicklow  team blitz takes place next Sunday in Dunlavin Community School with our u13 girls indoor soccer under manager Oisin Jordan. U15 girls and boys badminton teams under Andrew and Anne Marie Doyle and our u13 and u16 chess teams coached by Seamus Duffy and managed by Majella and Rachael so thank you to all of the above for your continued support. Then blitz begins at 12.00pm with indoor soccer.

Gaa News

The Aughrim u15 boys football team had a busy week in the Cross Border league. They played Duffry Rovers (Wexford) and Clan na Gael (Waterford). The boys were victorious on both occasions. Thank you very much to Annacurra GAA for providing a venue for the games.

Walkathon Event

There are only 3 weeks left until our inaugural 24 hour Walkathon event. It takes place on the 13th and 14th of March. Many teams have signed up for the event and they would appreciate your sponsorship. This is our main fundraising event for the year and your support and generosity would be greatly appreciated. There are many sponsorship cards in the locality. Thank you all in advance.

Women’s World Day of Prayer

The Women’s World Day of Prayer Service will take place on Friday the 6th of March at 8pm in Holy Trinity Church Castlemacadam . The service this year is prepared by the women of Zimbabwe and the theme of the service is Rise- Take your mat and walk. Everyone welcome.                                                                                     

Lotto

The numbers:1, 11, 12 and 26 were drawn in this week’s Aughrim Sports club lotto February 17th.  The jackpot was not won. Match three winners were: Paddy Brown, c/o Kevin Brown and O’Brien grandchildren c/o Rory O’Brien. The jackpot is €5100.  The weekly lotto supports Aughrim Camogie Club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex. People who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community.

Town & Country Market

Aughrim Town and country market are back in action after the Christmas break.  The market is open from 10 – 2 in the Pavilion, Rednagh Road. Enjoy the buzz in the Pavilion Cafe as you catch up with friends over coffee and treats. Delicious brunches and light lunches are also on offer.  Fresh local produce available, including organic fruit and vegetables, locally produced meat, eggs, preserves and fresh home baked bread and cakes.
