CHAIR YOGA

Carnew Community Care.  Tuesday mornings from 10am to 11am.  €8 per class.

This is a very gentle exercise class for seniors aiming to improve flexibility, strength and mobility.  Chair yoga can also help promote balance, co-ordination and improved overall health and well-being.

GENTLE YOGA CLASS, Carnew Community Care.  Tuesday mornings from 11.15am – 12.15pm.   €8 per class.

This class comprises gentle yoga stretching movements synchronised with the breath which promotes mindful awareness and reduces stress. The pace is gentle and postures are modified. Gentle yoga increases flexibility and strengthens muscles and bones while improving posture.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB 

The following are the walks for the next two weeks for Tinahely Walking club on Sunday 

February 09th is Askamore. Level B, 12 km, 3 hrs. Meet at Askamore car park 10.30 am.

February 16: Kirikee & Glenmalure. Level C, 10 km, 3 hrs. Meet Tinahely 10 am or Ballinaclash 10.30 am.

As usual, please remember to wear proper walking boots, pack full rain gear and bring adequate food & drink.

Chainsaw operations Thursday’s 20th, 27th and 5th March€320 9.30 – 4.30pm. Forklift Experienced non certified Friday 6thor Saturday 7th March €225 9-5pm. Forklift refresher €175 9-5pm. Certified Principles of HACCP and food safety €140 9.30 – 4pm. MEWP mobile Elevated working €200 9-12. Train the trainer (QQI level 6) Tuesday 4,11,17,25 February €500 9.30- 4.30pm, every Tuesday for 4 weeks. Basic computers Wednesday 29th January €30 10am -12pm. TBC payroll €280 Monday evenings. TBC Book keeping €280 Tuesday evening.All courses subject to change , CE rates and Social Welfare participants may qualify for DSP funding.

PILATES 

A beginners course for Pilates will commence on Friday mornings in Askamore from 11am – 12 noon, there’s is classes also on Wednesday mornings from 8.45 am – 9.45, boot camp from 9.45 – 10.45am, and over 55’s from 11-12 and in Colaiste Bhride, Carnew on Friday evenings begging at 6.45 – 7.45 pm followed by boot camp from 7.45 – 8.45 pm, all welcome.

DANCE YOURSELF HAPPY 

A Taster class will be held on 5th February in Askamore cost €7 on the night, followed by a 6 week term for €35, designed with beginners in mind, SOSA will have you up dancing routines and having fun straight away, it’s a high energy but low impact dance fitness class, for more information phone 0863856944.

The next bingo is on Sunday 9th February at 2.30pm in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew. All welcome.

RETIREMENT 

Carnew Ploughing Society would like to wish the very best of luck to Edward Dowse, Kilcavan who has retired after 22 years as chairman from Wicklow County Ploughing Society.

SPLIT THE POT 
The lucky winner of €245 in our Split the Pot draw for Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew was Amelia Mulhall. Congratulations. The sellers prize winner was Adam Collins who won a €10 voucher for Victors and the lucky dip winner was Cillian Molloy. Enrolment Form for September 2020

Enrolment forms are now available for those wishing to enrol in September 2020.

 If you know of anyone wishing to have a child enrolled in Ballyellis please inform them that these forms are now available. Please contact the office on 053 9426159 or email the school at ballyellisns@eircom.net if you wish to have an enrolment form sent out or call into the school to collect form.

Grandparents Day

The pupils and staff would like to thank all the grandparents and parents that came to ‘Grandparent’s Day’ celebration on Wednesday the 29th January 2020 in Ballyellis School.  A very large attendance attended a prayer service and tree planting ceremony with songs and music provided by the pupils and  was followed by a cuppa and  lots of chats and reminiscences . A lovely day was had by all. 

Ballyellis NS – Split the Pot

Winner of “Split the Pot” on Friday 31st  January 2020 is Jack Sheridan, Munny  –  winning €170.   We thank everyone for supporting “Split the Pot”. Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any Parent and from Ashling Walsh after Sunday  Mass in Askamore Church.. Draws will take place every Friday morning in Ballyellis School. Many thanks for your continued support.

SINGING CLASSES 

Our singing classes with Honor Heffernan are proving to be hugely popular but there’s always room for more budding singers to come along.

The classes run on a Tuesday evening from 7.30pm in The Activity Centre Askamore.
