Arts Festival

Festival 2020 takes place from June 19th to June 21st. A meeting to organise events for the weekend will take place on Saturday February 29th  at 11.30 am in the Imaal Hall. Anyone wishing to get involved is invited to attend.

Sympathy – is extended to Rachel Lynch and family on the recent passing of Rachel’s mother Peggy. Peggy passed away peacefully on January 30th with her funeral taking place in Cabinteely on February 4th.

Dunlavin Flower & Garden Club – “Grasses Wild Flowers & Fruit Trees” In conversation with Tony Harte on Wednesday, Feb 12th at 8pm in the Jonathan Swift School Hall. All are welcome!

Anam Cara South Dublin – the organisation that supports bereaved parents, are holding a Parent Support Event on Monday, 10th February at 7:20pm in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght. All are welcome.

Lourdes Pilgrimage

 If anyone is interested in a Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes for 5 nights, staying in the hotel La Solitude, on September 3 rd or 19 th please contact the Parish Centre on 045-401871. Please let us know which date is most suitable.

Camogie

Donard Glen Camogie Club are currently enrolling players for the 2020 season. Our club caters for players of all ages from the very young to adult.

We are currently Wicklow Senior Camogie Champions for 2019.

We welcome all girls and cater for new players. Our registration day is on Saturday February 8th from 10:30am to 12:00 noon in our club rooms in St Kevin’s Community College Dunlavin. Registration fee is €30 for under age players.

Dinner Dance

Polish up the dancing shoes for February 15th when Dunlavin GAA will hold their Dinner Dance in the Clanard Court  Hotel, Athy. Tickets €40 includes a 3 course meal and music by “Flog the Dog”Contact Siobhan on 0864415547 or any club member for tickets.

West Wicklow Historical Society

In 2020 the West Wicklow Historical Society is celebrating 40 years promoting local history.  Founded in 1980, the WWHS concentrates mainly on the four western baronies of Co. Wicklow as well as adjacent areas of Carlow and Kildare.  A full line-up of events is planned for the year.  The Spring lecture programme is as follows.

Panic Buttons

Anyone who is over the age of 65 may apply for a Panic Button. If you are interested, or know of someone who may require one, the necessary application form can be accessed by calling 086-1020303. Also please keep an eye and check on your elderly neighbours over the Christmas period. Thank you.

Mandalas

Every Thursday morning we meet in An LAR to draw mandalas , paint tiles or create patterns .We use pencils ,paints ,markers ,compasses all under the guidance of Bernie Sheridan from Wexford.She supplies the materials . Family Carers Ireland 

Family  Carers Ireland are seeking volunteers in Dunlavin and the surrounding area to give 1 o 2 hours a week to visit an elderly person in their own home who are experiencing loneliness and isolation. The Irish Cancer Society – is looking for volunteers to drive patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments in all public hospitals nationwide. Volunteers will need their own car but all expenses are paid. If you have 2 free days a month (Monday – Friday) and an active email address we would love to hear from you.
