Hollywood Community Forum Meeting

Hollywood Community Forum has hosted its first by-monthly Meeting this January for 2020 in the Hollywood Community Centre.

The meeting was well attended and several local matters were discussed regarding the community which were raised by those present. We host an open meeting and everyone is welcome. There are several projects at an advanced stage of progress and the forum is very optimistic regarding the outcomes.

The Forum continues to engagement with Wicklow County Council and in 2019 attended several Municipal District meeting in Blessington where two representatives from the forum voiced the need to reduce the speed limit on the N81 at Hollywood and a Bus stop, path and lighting for Hollywood. Two members attended the Baltinglass Municipal District Policing Plan Committee evening and put in submissions. Co Wicklow Partnership and Rural Recreation is another group linked with the forum, focused on the upgrading the St Kevin’s Way pilgrim path and re-routing sections to off road paths on safety grounds. We have two members sitting on a couple of committees such as Public Participation Network representatives, the West Wicklow Environment Network and the Joint Policing SPC.

We were delighted to announce our Community Directory and Information Booklet in conjunction with the Parish Office which is being distributed at the moment to Hollywood village and hinterlands. This is the second addition and hosts a section on the activities in Hollywood along with local service providers and community groups, a must have in every home. Please take note; the St Vincent De Paul society phone number has changed to 086 250 6009

The Hollywood Walking Club will be holding a meeting soon to kick start the new season, everyone really enjoyed the walk evenings so we will be posting further information shortly.
