Arklow students through to 3Arena Junk Kouture final

After yet another awe-inspiring display of regional glitz, glamour and re-purposed ‘rubbish’, Junk Kouture provincial winners will gather together for one last time at the competition’s Grand Final in 3 Arena, on 30th April 2020.

Taking to one of Ireland’s most prestigious stages, 1 local design ‘Bibity Bobity Boom’ designed by Lucy Bracken and Faye O’Sullivan from St Mary’s College, Arklow will join grand finalists from across the country in a bid to be crowned the 10th annual Junk Kouture winner.

The girls entry is titled DEFORESTATION and here is what the dress is all about. “Too many trees being cut down , and there’s already so much waste paper, that’s what the pompoms on the whole dress are made from, which in a result leaves no homes for the birds and other wildlife, there for the dress represents as a magnificent bird.

With a beautiful fan feather display made from tissue paper ends ,,,,but secretly it represents Cinderella, because life isnt always a fairy tale , horrible things are happening in the face of climate change and we all need to be made aware.”

Set to be one of the biggest events in the 2020 fashion calendar, 3Arena will play host to the crème de la crème of the country’s most creative young minds!

Megan Kelly, Operations Manager, Junk Kouture said “This is our seventh final to be held in the 3Arena, and if the previous years are anything to go by, the audience is in for a fabulous night to remember! Large numbers of family, friends and fashion enthusiasts travel across the provinces of Ireland to support the designers and models, and nothing sounds better that the cheers of the Grand Final audience!
