West Wicklow Festival and Drogheda Classical Music are delighted to collaborate and present a two concert online mini-series, “Behind Closed Doors”, on Friday 26th June at 7:30pm and Sunday 28th June at 7:30pm from the stunning music room at Russborough House, Co Wicklow and the glorious setting of St Peter’s Church of Ireland, Drogheda respectively.
On Friday 26th June the West Wicklow Festival will present a concert by acclaimed duo Gavan Ring tenor and Fiachra Garvey piano for an evening of popular opera arias and songs including favourites by Puccini, Mozart, Gounod, Schubert and more!
This concert will be free to view, however, to ensure the West Wicklow Festival can continue to plan, support and employ those involved in the arts into the future, viewers will be invited to make a charitable donation after the concert.
On Sunday 28th June, Drogheda Classical Music will present a concert of Mozart and Beethoven Wind Quintets originally scheduled to take place on Thurs 12th March but cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic.
This concert features pianist Finghin Collins with an ensemble of distinguished wind players, Matthew Manning oboe, Macdara Ó Seireadáin clarinet, Sinéad Frost bassoon and Cormac Ó hAodáin french horn. As the Drogheda concert is a rescheduled event it will be free to existing ticket holders and available to all others for €10.
Both concerts will remain available to watch for 72 hours after they go live.
Whilst these concerts will be unusual, sadly lacking a live audience, both will however be broadcast with high definition audio and visual to ensure viewers have as close to a live experience as is possible from the comfort of their homes.
West Wicklow Festival and Drogheda Classical Music are grateful to the Arts Council, Fáilte Ireland, Wicklow and Louth County Councils as well as their private donors and loyal audiences.
