Aughrim notes week July 13th

Church Webcam Fundraiser

To facilitate on-line access to parish information and to our church services, we plan to create a parish website, and to have a live streaming camera installed at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Aughrim.

The estimated cost is circa. €6,000.

We are currently embarking on a fundraising drive to cover the cost of the works.

If you would like to make a contribution to the fundraiser for the website/webcam fund, please complete donation forms located in the rear of our parish church and return with your donation in an envelope marked “Website/Webcam Fundraiser” to the sacristy or in the collection baskets at any of our masses from the start of July.

Alternatively, you can contact any of the parish pastoral council members to arrange collection of your donation.

Gaa News

The Aughrim GAA Walkathon was a huge success. Thank you to each and every person who aided the organisation of our Walkathon, along with those who sponsored our walkers. To the walkers themselves, thank you very much for your participation and dedication. It was certainly an event to remember. We are all looking forward to the next one.

In the aftermath of the event, our adult football team defeated Avoca in the Brian Culleton memorial cup. It was an honour for Aughrim to retain the title for the first time since 2013. Brian was a wonderful member of the GAA and we are very proud the have ascertained a cup in his memory. Thank you to Avoca for a sporting game and a huge well done to the Aughrim team. We wish them the very best of luck in their up coming championship fixture.
