Congratulations to Cora Tyrell from Colaiste Bhride Carnew on winning the Bishops medal for First Place in the Senior Bishop’s medal Essay writing competition organised by Bishop Michael Burrows from the united Diocese of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory which was organised during the lockdown.

Well done Cora.


Carnew GAA club are holding a drive in Monster Bingo on Monday 3rd and Sunday 16th August at 2pm in Carnew Emmetts GAA grounds Single books€10, double €15, baby €5 prizes 1 line €30, double line €50, full house €100 and every 3rd page €200. Calling all knitters, we know it’s a bit early to start talking about Christmas, but we need your help again, such was the success of our family Christmas tree last year , we plan to create another one this year and sell hats for people to place on their own trees at home in honour of all the children who have come into our lives.

The Irish Shows Association is holding a Virtual Online Show on Saturday August 22nd.

The Recycling at Colaiste Bhride Carnew will resume on Saturday 18th July at the usual time.


Masses have resumed in all parishes, Carnew and Tomacork as normal for the moment , Kilrush as usual, Askamore Tuesday morning at 9.30am and Sunday morning at 11am, please adhere to social distances and hand sanitizers.

Items are still being collected for premature babies for Crumlin and The Coombe Hospitals and I’m sure when this pandemic is over they will be in very low supply , so if you would like to knit or crochet baby cardigans, hats, mits, blankets 12”x18” to wrap babies in, 20”x24” for cots, 24”x34” , large squares for the missionary priests ( they don’t have to be sewn up).

They can be dropped to the Community Care , all items would be greatly appreciated.
