Carnew notes week July 27th


Carnew GAA club are holding a drive in Monster Bingo on Monday 3rd and Sunday 16th August at 2pm in Carnew Emmetts GAA grounds.

Single books €10, double €15, baby €5 prizes 1 line €30, double line €50, full house €100 and every 3rd page €200.

Jackpot sheet €3 or two for €5 prizes 1 line €50, double line €100, full house €500.

Calling all knitters, we know it’s a bit early to start talking about Christmas, but we need your help again, such was the success of our family Christmas tree last year , we plan to create another one this year and sell hats for people to place on their own trees at home in honour of all the children who have come into our lives.

If you would like to help to raise much needed funds by knitting small baby hat Christmas tree decorations you can download the pattern here thank you.

Items are still being collected for premature babies for Crumlin and The Coombe Hospitals and I’m sure when this pandemic is over they will be in very low supply , so if you would like to knit or crochet baby cardigans, hats, mits, blankets 12”x18” to wrap babies in, 20”x24” for cots, 24”x34” , large squares for the missionary priests ( they don’t have to be sewn up).

They can be dropped to the Community Care , all items would be greatly appreciated.

The annual patron mass in Kilrush parish will take place on Sunday 2nd August at 1pm on Church go to St Brigid’s Church Kilrush and click on the black box underneath, you are asked to visit the graves afterwards and sprinkle holy water on your graves.

Coolafancy patron mass which was to be held on Sunday August 2nd has been rescheduled for Sunday 16th August at 2pm and will be confirmed nearer to the time.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Mrs Hannah Bolger, Coollattin Road, Carnew and formerly of Bolinrush Bunclody who died during the week and was buried on Monday in Askamore cemetery.
