Members of the public are being reminded to keep away from coastal areas and waterways during the present storm.
A number of incidents have been reported this afternoon where members of the public, some with small children have put themselves in a precarious situation.
Road users are also being urged to use caution as spot flooding and fallen debris has been reported.
A wind warning issued from Met Eireann is valid until 7pm this evening.
