Dunlavin man seeks information for new book

Local man Chris Lawlor is researching the 1900-25 period in the Dunlavin area for a new book.

If anyone has memorabilia (photos, medals, documents etc.) that they would like included in the book, Chris can photograph them for illustrations, which will be credited to the owners.

Anything relating to village life, the Women’s Suffrage movement, the Labour movement, Home Rule, the Volunteers, Cumann na mBan, World War One, the 1916 Rising, the 1918 general election, local elections, the War of Independence and the Civil War would be very welcome, as would photos taken in later life of people who lived through the time.

Any local stories about the period would also be of interest, and duly credited. Chris will not share any of this material with third parties, nor will he publish it in the book without the consent of the owners.

Chris may be emailed at lawlorcm@hotmail.com or telephoned on 087-9321737. You can also call in person to ‘Hillside’, Sparrow Road Dunlavin, W91 T9W0. Social distancing and face coverings will be respected for all person-to-person meetings etc.
