Church Timetable for Christmas

The following is the Christmas timetable for the Sacred Heart Church:  Confessions each Saturday evening during Advent before Mass: 7.15 – 7.45 p. m.  Confessions on Christmas Eve, December 24th 10.00 – 12.00 noon.  Masses: Christmas Eve, December 24th: Family Mass at 6.00 p. m. Vigil Mass at 8.00 p. m.

Christmas Day: Note there will be 2 masses on Christmas Day: 9.00 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. Please be aware that due to current COVID 19 guidelines for religious services the maximum number allowed in the Church at any Mass is 50.

GAA News.

The sympathy of Aughrim GAA is extended to the Maher and Byrne family on the death of Colm. Colm was a dedicated member of our hurling championship winning team of 2019.

The sympathy of the club is also extended to the Keenan, O’Byrne and Healy family on the death of Phil (former treasurer), to the Lawlor family on the death of John Joe and to the Byrne and Kenny families on the death of Dick and finally to the Doyle family of Toberpatrick on the death of Sean. Our annual juvenile Christmas draw takes place on Saturday next December 19th.

All ticket sellers please return tickets and money by this Thursday. If you need tickets and have not got any please contact club officials’ immediately.


The numbers: 11, 13, 19 and 24 were drawn in this week’s Aughrim Sports club lotto on Monday December 7th.

The jackpot was not won.

There was no match three or jackpot winners. The jackpot is now €5850.

  People now have the facility to do the Aughrim Sports Club lotto online.  Just go to Aughrim Sports club lotto and take it from there.  The weekly lotto supports Aughrim Camogie Club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex.

People who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community. 

Christmas Cards for Sale

A signed Christmas card with a beautiful Winter image of Our Church. (Photo taken by Myles Carroll). Cards are on sale now, cost of cards is €2 each or 3 cards for €5.  All proceeds will go towards the Church upkeep.  The cards are available at the Church Sacristy at the following times: Weekday mornings 9.30 – 10.30.  Saturday evening 7.30 – 8.30 pm.  Sunday mornings 10 – 11.15 am.

The cards are also on sale from members of the pastoral council, Londis, Main Street, The Post Office, Rednagh Stores, and the Saturday morning market at the Pavilion.

Town & Country Market

Aughrim Town and Country Market are excited & looking forward to welcoming our customers to our Christmas Markets every Saturday up until Christmas week with a special extra opening on Wednesday 23rd to allow for collections and last minute gift shopping. 

We wish to thank our customers & stall holders for adhering to the restrictions during the past few weeks. These guidelines of wearing face coverings, social distancing, etc will continue to be rigorously followed. The Market is open 10 am – 2.00pm in the Pavilion, Rednagh Road Aughrim Co Wicklow. Santa’s Visit

A sincere thank you is extended to all who contributed in any way to the success of the Santa visit in Aughrim on Sunday December 6th.  Santa and Mrs Clause were very impressed with the welcome they received and they wish everyone a Happy Christmas.
