Wicklow Way named Irish walking trail of the Year

County Wicklow claimed two awards in the Ireland Walking Awards 2020.

Though not many managed to walk it last year the Wicklow Way has claimed the title of “Irish Walking Trail of the Year” for 2020.

A total of 1,159 walkers took part in the 2020 Ireland Walking Survey last month, and the Wicklow Way received more votes than any other National Waymarked Trail in Ireland.

The Wicklow Way runs from Marley Park in County Dublin to Clonegal in County Carlow crossing the Wicklow Mountains covering a distance of 131 kilometers.

The Wicklow Mountains also claimed the “Irish Upland Area of the Year” title.
