Lacken-Kilbride GAA Club Notes

Club Notes – 08.02.2021 – Lacken-Kilbride

Our condolences go out to the O’Brien family, with the recent passing of Ann.  Ann was huge supporter of the club and without fail every week had her favourite lotto numbers in for the club draw.  Ann’s late husband Tom was a former Club Chairman and Anne and Brenda are current members of the club committee.  A family steeped in Kilbride GAA History.  Ann will be sorely missed by all in the community and everyone associated with the club.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam`.

Club Committee Meeting on Zoom

The first zoom committee meeting was held on the 3rd of February, no glitches!  Plans are in place for the Juveniles to start back soon, Covid and availability permitting under lights in the Blessington Astro surface.  Everything is up in the air at the moment and things will become clearer at a later date.

Benches in the new pitch – looking for some sponsors…

The club are laying two park benches in our new facility, for the club but more so for the community. They will be installed by the end of March. We received a grant for the benches from Wicklow County Council, however, not enough to cover labour, materials and paving. We are seeking some sponsors and any donations will go directly to this project. If you are in a position to help the club and the community, contact Diarmuid on 0863113443 or email: secretary.lackenkilbride.wicklow@gaa.ie
