Aughrim notes week March 1st

Town & Country Market

 Aughrim Town and Country Market continues at the Pavilion Rednagh Road on Saturdays from 10 – 2. Due to the level 5 restrictions in place at the moment it will be a ‘ food only ‘ market.

We will as usual operate on a ‘one way ‘ system for entering & leaving & trust that customers will continue to respect that ‘face coverings & ‘Social distancing ‘ will be adhered to for the foreseeable future.

Community Sports Field AGM.

Aughrim Community Sports & Leisure Association’s AGM was held on Thursday 25th February at 8.30pm in online format.

With Covid 19 and Level 5 restrictions 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone and sporting organisations were no exceptions.

Reviews of 2020 were discussed as well as exciting plans to develop a new pitch/training area, which with ever increasing demands our community so badly needs.

Officers elected for the year 2021 are as follows: 

President: Liam Fanning Vice President: Liam O’Loughlin Chairman: David Sheehy Vice Chairman: Monica O’Brien, Secretary: Padraig Connell Asst. Secretary: Kevin Mann Treasurer: Stephen Wilson Asst.

Treasurer: Sean O’Shea PRO: Donal Linehan, Pitches Secretary: John Keenan.

Indoor Hall Secretary: TBC when Sports hall reopens.

Environmental Officer: Kevin Mann (New position) Appointment of Club Representatives for 2021: 

GAA Club: Liam Fanning, David Murphy, Gerry Holt, Padraig Connell. Camogie Club: Rory Connolly, Stephen Wilson, Kevin Byrne. Soccer Club: Tommy Forsyth, John Keenan, Michaela Canosa, Oisin Jordan. Athletics Club: Fiona Shannon, Tara Lyons, Monica O’Brien with one more TBC.

Community Representatives: Sean O’Shea, Donal Linehan, Declan O’Brien, Christy O’Brien, Colm Moules.

The trustees: Kevin Mann, Liam O’Loughlin and Sean O’Shea. Michael Duffy was thanked for his contribution over the years and David Murphy and Colm Moules were welcomed as new members of the committee.

Lotto

The numbers: 19, 22, 27 and 28 were drawn in the Aughrim Sports Club Lotto on Monday March 1st. 

There was one match three winner: Joe and Kate Kennedy, Ballydowling, Rathdrum.

The jackpot was not won. 

The jackpot for Monday March 8th will be €7500. People now have the facility to do the Aughrim Sports Club lotto online.  Just go to clubforce.com Aughrim Sports club lotto and take it from there.  

The weekly lotto supports Aughrim Camogie Club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex. People who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community.
