Aughrim notes week March 8th


The numbers: 3, 12, 16 and 28 were drawn in the Aughrim Sports Club Lotto on Monday March 8th. 

The jackpot of €7500 was won by Joan O’Toole, Main Street, Aughrim.  There were no match three winners. 

The jackpot for Monday March 15th will be €2000.

People now have the facility to do the Aughrim Sports Club lotto online.  Just go to Aughrim Sports club lotto and take it from there.  

The weekly lotto supports Aughrim Camogie Club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex. People who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community. 

Town & Country Market

Aughrim Town and Country Market continues at the Pavilion Rednagh Road on Saturdays from 10 – 2. Due to the level 5 restrictions in place at the moment it will be a ‘ food only ‘ market. We will as usual operate on a ‘one way ‘ system for entering & leaving & trust that customers will continue to respect that ‘face coverings & ‘Social distancing ‘ will be adhered to for the foreseeable future.  For further information call Caroline 086/0865838.

GAA  Club

The Aughrim GAA Club 24 hour Walkathon will take place on Saturday June 5th for the second year in a row.

It will commence at 4pm and finish on Sunday June 6th at 4pm. This event was a great success for our club last year. We would welcome everyone in the community and wider to participate in this wonderful event. The event raised the moral of the club during difficult times, and also raised some funds for the club. All sponsorship is welcome. 

The club would like to welcome Darragh McEvoy as the new adult football team trainer. We wish him the very best of luck for the coming year. 

Aughrim GAA club would like to extend many thanks to John Keenan who has been an active member of the club committee for many years, fulfilling many roles. John’s most recent role was Secretary of the club. John has decided to take step back from this position this year. Thank you John for your relentless work over the last number of years.

Patrick Fanning will take the role as secretary with David Murphy fulfilling the role of assistant secretary. We wish them luck for the coming year. 

The GAA club is now accepting membership from it’s members. You will receive your club card once full payment is received. Thank you to all our members for your support over the last did difficult year. As always, we welcome new members.
