Skeletal human remains found at site in Newtown

Work was halted on a building site in Newtownmountkennedy following the discovery of partial human remains.

The discovery was made by builders on the site who informed the Gardai.

Following a examination by experts the remains are thought to be around 1,500 years old,

The site has been handed over to the National Monuments Service and Wicklow County Council.
