Avonmore Musical Society have some exciting news! Back in 2014 we were delighted to be the first musical theatre group in Ireland to be granted the rights for “The Addams Family-The Irish Premiere”. It was a fun filled musical that we as a society are so very proud of. We are delighted to announce that we have been granted permission to showcase our production again by live stream with TRW (Theatrical Rights Worldwide) for one night only on Saturday 10 April at 8pm.
This event will be our main fundraiser this year and from each €15 ticket purchased €3 will be donated to Arklow Cancer Support. This charity does fantastic work in the town by offering emotional support and practical help to people with cancer and their families and friends. Tomas Byrne, Chair of Avonmore Musical Society said, ‘Live theatre has suffered massively over the last year with the pandemic. Avonmore and musical societies right across the country have not been able to do what we love- showcase a full-scale musical production to our towns and communities, which in our case was Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Sister Act which was due to take to the stage in St Mary’s in two weeks. Fundraising events have also come to a standstill but we look forward to hosting a number of virtual events later on this year in addition to this live steam event which is a great opportunity for us as a group to give all musical lovers an Avonmore show!’
Limited streams are available so book early to avoid disappointed.
All support for this virtual event would be greatly appreciated and will help Avonmore Musical Society get back on the road for our musical production in 2022. A huge thanks to all our supporters over the last 42 years and we look forward to seeing you all in 2022!
