The pandemic restrictions have not prevented the Wicklow County Council library service from seeking safe ways of continuing to serve the community, especially families concerned about their children’s reading progress.
They are making two proven online supports available to parents who want to help their child improve their reading, writing, spelling and comprehension. These supports are TTRS or Touch, Type, Read and Spell and Lexia. TTRS is a multi-sensory typing programme that teaches typing, reading and spelling. Lexia is a reading programme that creates a blended learning programme personalised to individual student requirements
Both programmes are recommended by educational psychologists as valued resources for children who may be struggling with literacy.
These resources are available through County Wicklow schools at no cost and also accessible directly from the library to children who have not been given access through school. Please email email@example.com for further information
