Murt’s opening early for DITL participants to support Pieta House charity

Local chef Eoin Murtagh turned his COVID 19 blues into an opportunity when he opened Murt’s on South Quay Arklow at the end of March this year.  Thanks to the support from the people in Arklow Murt’s has gone from strength to strength with Eoin receiving hugely positive feedback to his street food offering on South Quay.

This weekend sees the arrival of the Pieta House fund raising initiative Darkness into Light.  Though there are no designated venues this year supporters are being asked take part at a time and location that suits them.

Having lost his job when COVID broke Eoin knows only too well about the importance of mental health – particularly in the current environment.  For that reason he wants to give something back.  To encourage everyone that will be participating in Darkness Into Light Murt’s will open at their South Quay venue at 6.00am on Saturday 8th May for breakfast. This will allow all participants in the Arklow area to secure much need sustenance after their early morning sojourn!

In addition Murt’s will be contributing €2 from every one of their hugely popular Wexford Bla Breakfast Baps sold between 6.00am and 9.00am on the 8th May to DITL charity Pieta House.

“The last twelve months have been so tough for so many people, despite this Murt’s have received huge support from the people of Arklow and surrounding areas, we just want to show our appreciation and this seemed like a nice way to do it” .
