Man dies following accident in Rathnew

The man who was involved in an accident on the Rathnew to Glenealy road on Monday morning has died.

The man aged in his 50’s was struck by a vehicle while carrying out work on the stretch of road at Milltown just after 8am.

He was taken to St.Vincent’s hospital, but died from his injuries today.

The road was closed most of the day on Monday to allow for a Garda forensic examination.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward,” a garda spokesperson said.

Any road users who were travelling on the R752 at Milltown South between 7.45am and 8.15am on the morning of Monday 5th July, 2021 and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
