Big Beach Clean 2021|Greystones South Beach|18 September 2021

A Big Beach Clean for Greystones South Beach will take place this year.

Saturday,  18 September 2021 at 10.00 a.m.

During the clean,  volunteers will be asked to carry out marine litter surveys.

These surveys will quantify the amount and types of litter on Irish beaches.

They are aimed at raising awareness about the issue of marine litter.

Last year,  300 clean ups took place all over Ireland.

There were 8,000 volunteers who removed at least 45 tonnes of marine litter !!

Wicklow County Council|Hedgecutting|Roadside Trees|Japanese Knotweed

  • Hedgerows that need trimming should be cut from 1 September to 28 February.

This includes hedges and hedgerows along footpaths as well as public roads.

  • Roadside Trees should be inspected and necessary action taken. 

Inspection should be carried out by suitably qualified personnel.

  • Japanese Knotweed SHOULD NOT BE CUT !!

No ground disturbance should take place at these sites at any time of year.

Please report Japanese Knotweed on public roads/footpaths to WCC.
