Luisne Centre for Well Being Will Open Again !!

Luisne will be opening at Egan Business Centre,  Upper Dargle Road,  Bray,  Co. Wicklow

Luisne promotes a holistic and integral approach to health and wellness.

It does this on a personal,  community and planetary level.

This famous well being centre was previously located in Kilcoole.

Now back in action,  the Centre is conveniently located in Bray,  Exit 6 from M11.

The Centre is easily accessed from Greystones and there is plenty of free parking.

Lots of well being classes and sessions being scheduled from 31 January.

In the meantime join Luisne for its ONLINE Christmas Family Concert.

17 December 2021,  7.30 pm to 8.30 pm.

Story telling,  Christmas music and Skirt Dancing and more !!

Booking necessary,  €10 per household.

Irish Heart Foundation Act FAST Campaign

The Irish Heart Foundation is running a campaign to raise awareness of signs of stroke.

It also wants to highlight the importance of getting to hospital as soon as possible.

Here is what to look out for:

Face

Has the person’s face fallen on one side ??

Can they smile ??

Arms

Can the person raise their arms and keep them there ??

Speech

Is the person’s speech slurred ??

Time

Time to call 112 or 999 is you see any single one of these signs.

Greystones Municipal District Opening Hours

Greystones Municipal District is open Monday to Friday;  9.30 am to 12 pm and 2pm to 4 pm.

GMD is located on Mill Road,  Greystones.

Bray/Greystones Cliff Walk Remains Partially Closed

The Bray/Greystones Cliff Walk remains partially closed.

It is possible to walk from Bray to Windgates and then follow a loop back to Bray.

Or just return to Bray the way you came.

The Greystones side is very dangerous and is closed in certain spots.

WCC has put short term measures in place for protection of the public.

It continues to seek an alternative route for the walk.

The patience and co-operation of the public is much appreciated.

Wicklow County Council|Housing Adaptation Grants

Housing Adaption Grants are being accepted for older people and people with a disability.

The purpose is to allow these groups to remain living independently in their own homes.

And to avoid their having to be care for in hospitals and nursing homes.

The grants are available in three categories.

  • Mobility Aids Grant
  • Housing Adaptation Grant
  • Housing Aid for Older People

All three grants are means tested.

Greystones Library|Mill Road|Greystones

  • Greystones Library is fully operational
  • Study spaces available for public use.  Individual screens in place for extra safety.
  • CO2 monitors installed for public safety and reassurance.
  • Public access PCs available for use.
  • Class visits with pods of 6 or less with prior arrangement.
  • Events of 7+ require all attendees to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.

Greystones Active Retirement Association (GARA)

Wonderful group for the over 55s in the Greystones and surrounding areas.

Lots going on,  there is something for everyone at GARA !!

Ongoing activities include:

  • Art                         Mondays         2.30 pm to  4.30 pm.
  • Short Mat Bowling     Tuesdays       10.45 am to 12.45 pm.
  • Bingo                     Thursdays        2.30 pm to  4.30 pm.

These three activities will be taking a Christmas break.

  • Art finishes on Monday,  6 December.        Restarts on Monday,  17 January.
  • Bingo finishes on Tuesday,  7 December.    Restarts on Tuesday,  18 January.
  • Bowls finishes on Thursday,  9 December.   Restarts on Thursday,  20 January.

There is one more Tuesday afternoon session before the Christmas break. 

Unfortunately,   due to COVID-19 restrictions,  there will no Christmas party.

There will be free two hour parking in Greystones on Saturdays until 18 December.

Special reminder that usual restrictions apply.

No parking on double yellow lines or in loading zones.
