Sometime over the last week a “Mystery Man” has arrived on the South beach in Arklow.
The sculpture is about 3 metres in height, made of metal wearing a hat and is looking east out to sea, appearing to cover his eyes with his hand.

It is not know how he got there or who put him there, a member of the Arklow Coast Care Group said “He appeared overnight and everyone is delighted with him, it is a total mystery and it looks like whoever put him there had it all planned for a while. He is well bolted to the stone, I hope no one touches him now.”
A post on Social Media said “Arklow now has its own Banksy, well done to whomever.”
It is not the first time a mystery object has appeared in Arklow, in December 2018 a carved owl showed up at the duck pond on the northside of the town.
