Scrap Metal Extended Until February!
You can drop your metal scrap up to the back of the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh(Fundraiser for the Brockagh Resource Centre). Some of the items you can bring are Biscuit tins, steel oil tanks, steel window frames, steel coal bunkers, car batteries, radiators, Solid fuel cookers, Sheep wire, bicycles, old cars without the tyres, steel wheel barrows, golf irons, etc. No Fridges, Freezers, Cookers, Timber, Plastics or Tyres. Active Retirement Laragh
Active Retirement Group will be resuming their weekly Tuesday morning meetings on the 8th February 2022 for Tea/Coffee, light exercise and a catch up from 11am – 12pm at the Brockagh Centre.
Active Retirement group meet every Tuesday morning from 11am – 12pm in the Brockagh Centre. So if you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise, dancing and music come along on Tuesdays. We always welcome new members to join our group. This year we’d like to encourage anyone who loves arts & crafts, maybe you’ve learned new skills over the Covid break and would like the space to practice and share your skills with other members, come along and join us. Happy Days Parent and Toddler Group
Back on Wednesday mornings 11-12pm at the Brockagh Centre on Feb 9th of February. This group is for parents/guardians, babies and toddlers who get together for a chat and play(cost 3€ per family). Laragh Badminton Club
Badminton classes are in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh: Mondays 4th, 5th and 6th class at 7.30-8.30pm. Thursdays 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Secondary School 6.30-7.30pm. Pilates Classes in Laragh

Coniferous Tree Identification Walk
Join a National Parks & Wildlife Service guide and discover how to identify some of the non-native coniferous trees growing in the Upper Lake area of Glendalough. There will be an option at the end to see what is currently said to be Ireland’s tallest tree.
At 11am, Thursday 27th and Saturday 29th January 2022, duration is between 60 and 90 minutes for the main walk and an additional 20 minutes to see Ireland’s tallest tree.
Meet at the National Park Information Office park (eircode A98R221). Practicalities: mostly walking on the flat valley floor along hard surfaced paths and areas of grass. However there will be some short sections of steeper, stepped and rougher ground. Dress for the outdoors and wear warm clothing, good shoes or walking boots and bring waterproofs just in case. This is a free event. Except for guide or assistance dogs, dogs are not permitted on National Park events.
Parking: (€4 per car) is available at the Co. Co. Upper Lake car park (eircode A98W778).
