Active Retirement

Hello Everybody – good news – Active Retirement is going to be ACTIVE again. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, 2nd March in the Sports Complex at 11am. Please note change of meeting day from Tuesday to WEDNESDAY. It will be great to be together again. Our ‘Christmas’ !! Party will be on Wednesday, 16th March in the Woodenbridge Hotel – details will be announced at the upcoming meeting.

We would welcome new members – if you know somebody who might be interested, bring them along to the meeting.

Palliative Care Module

GAA News

At a well attended meeting on Friday night ,club members learned of the Sports Capital Grant of € 42,000 the club were awarded towards the G.A.A. pitch refurbishment. Well done to all involved in securing this grant.   

Congrats to Aughrim players Robert Lambert and John Toomey who played their parts for the Wicklow Senior footballers and hurlers respectively recently. Great to see the club represented at county level.  Our annual 24 hour fundraising walkathon is fixed for the June Bank Holiday weekend. The walk will start off at 4 pm on Saturday 4th June and finish at 4pm on Sunday 5th. June.

Now that restrictions have relaxed we hope that everyone will get involved and support this fundraiser. Training is going well with our adult teams and our first outing in the Junior A league will take place on Sunday March 6th at home against neighbours Ballinacor at 11:00 am.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery to club footballer Eoin Forsyth after his unfortunate accident.

Town & Country Market

Aughrim Town & Country market is back in full swing after the Christmas holidays.    The market takes place in the Pavilion, Rednagh Road, on Saturdays from 10 – 2.  There is a great selection of fresh vegetables, free range eggs, honey, freshly baked cakes and treats, plus wooden products, clothing, jewellery and also Richard’s range of delicious take away eats.  Hoping to see all our customers back again on Saturday.  If you need more info phone Dave at 083 0349577 or check out @aughrimtownandcountry

Aughrim Sports Complex AG M

The annual general meeting of the Aughrim Community Sports & Leisure Association will be held in the sports complex on Thursday February 24th at 8 pm.  All are welcome.

 

Yoga & Meditation classes.

Yoga & Meditation classes with Yvonne Doyle in the Sports Complex are as follows: Monday 9.30am Yoga, Tuesday 8pm (Online only) Meditation & Yoga Nidra, Wednesday 6.50pm Yoga for Beginners/Improvers, Wednesday 8pm Yoga (for those with more experience). New 6 week courses.

Lotto

The numbers drawn in Aughrim Sports Club lotto on Monday February 14th.were: 5, 7, 18 and 23. The jackpot was not won and there were three match three winners: Kevin Dunne, Trish Quigley and D. Doyle.  The jackpot for February 21st is €6500.  People now have the facility to do the Aughrim Sports Club lotto online.  Just go to clubforce.com Aughrim Sports club lotto and take it from there.  The weekly lotto supports Aughrim Camogie Club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex. People who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community.
