Bono donates U2 track to “Climb with Charlie”

Charlie Bird has thanked Bono, for what he has called a lovely gesture after the U2 frontman donated the track “Crazy Mountain” for the Climb with Charlie Campaign.

The song was originally on the U2 album No Line on The Horizon which was released in 2009.

All funds raised from the new mix will be divided between Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association & Pieta.

The former RTÉ journalist Tweeted ” Thank you Bono for this lovely gesture. This is for everyone who has a Terminal illness or who are struggling with their own mountains to climb everyday. I got a little emotional listening to this song but in a way they were tears of happiness. Take care everyone.”

The Ashford man revealed in December last year that he had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, which is a progressive neurological condition that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord.
