Funeral mass of council worker killed during Storm Eunice to take place today

The funeral mass of Billy (William) Kinsella, who was tragically killed during Storm Eunice will take place today.

Mr Kinsella, 58, who worked for Wexford County Council, was killed when he was struck by a falling tree while out clearing debris between Gorey and Tinahely at Ballythomas on Friday last.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with [Billy’s] family, work colleagues and friends at this very difficult time,” said a council spokesperson in a statement.

The funeral will arrive to The Church of Our Lady of the Nativity, Ballyfad, on Wednesday, 23 February, for Funeral Mass at 3pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr Kinsella is survived by his wife Rita, their son Conor and his siblings Patrick, Elizabeth, Shay, Sean and Aileen.
