Wicklow County Council are calling on residents of Baltinglass to take part in a new survey ahead of a potential grant from the Arts Council.
The council is currently preparing an application to the Arts Council’s ‘Creative Places’ scheme which could result in funding of up to €450,000 over a three-year period for the county.
The scheme is an opportunity for places which had not benefitted from sustained arts investment in the past to build local arts programmes which will benefit the people who live in these places.
“Baltinglass has been identified by Wicklow County Arts Office as the area around which the application will be based and is currently undertaking an initial research and engagement phase to support the application,” said the council.
The aims of the survey is to collect a broad range of views from people in the area who may not be already engaged in the arts or feel that cultural activity is not for them.
