If you are looking to get started with walking, there are two new walking groups starting soon in Bray and Greystones.
Both groups will run for four weeks. The idea is to help people to get out walking again with the support of a small friendly group. There is no charge to take part and everybody will get a free pedometer at the start of the programme and a free gift at the end.
Caragh Munn of Social Prescribing for Bray and Greystones, who is running the groups, says: “Being part of a supportive group can really help with motivation – it’s also great way to reconnect and meet new people.”
Social Prescribing for Bray and North Wicklow is a local initiative that supports people with their health and wellbeing by connecting them with a range of services and activities in the local community.
