Councillor Pat Kennedy has expressed his delight at the news that the new library in Rathdrum is to open on Tuesday 1st March after construction and fit out was completed a number of months ago.
Cllr. Kennedy said “I have had a great number of people contact me enquiring as to when the new library in Rathdrum will be open and everyone has waited with great patience. I am now delighted to be able to announce that the library will open Tuesday, 1st March.”
Opening hours for the library are:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 10am – 1pm & 2pm – 5pm
Wednesday: 2pm – 5pm & pm – 8.30pm
Thursday: 10am – 1pm & 2pm – 5pm
Friday: 10am – 1pm & 2pm – 5pm
Saturday: 10am – 1pm
Sunday: Closed
Bank Holiday Weekends: Closed Saturday, Sunday, & Monday
Cllr. Kennedy went on to say “I’ve worked to try and deliver a library for many years and, while it has taken some time to deliver, I am absolutely delighted that we now have an opening date. It will be of great benefit to all in the town and it is great to finally see it come to fruition. I would like to thank all those who worked closely with me to bring this idea to a reality, Director Michael Nicholson and in staff in Wicklow County Council, Wicklow County Council Chef Librarian Brendan Martin, and all the ,local people from the Rathdrum are who supported me while working on this.”
