Senator Pat Casey welcomes funding for sports clubs in Wicklow

Wicklow Senator Pat Casey has welcomed the announcement by his colleague Minister Jack
Chambers today of the Sports Capital Grants totalling €3,798,529 for sporting clubs and associations in Wicklow.

“This is a massive boost for the sporting clubs in Wicklow. Over the last two years, Covid has proved
the value of our local sport clubs to every community in Wicklow. I have worked with many of these
clubs to ensure that their applications were made successfully.”

“I have worked closely with Minister Chambers and his team to ensure that all sporting Clubs in
Wicklow receive this funding. This will allow state of the art sporting facilities for thousands of
people in sporting communities all over Wicklow. These communities have been waiting years for
these projects and I am delighted that I have been able to work with Government to ensure their
delivery.”

“I will continue to work with Minister Chambers and the Sports Capital team to ensure that these
projects proceed speedily through the system to begin construction as soon as possible. Sport in
Wicklow has been given a massive boost through these grants and I will also work with communities
that have not yet applied to ensure that we have county wide sports facilities of excellence.
