Arklow Town has had its twelfth Public Access Defibrillator installed this month.
It is situated at Coral Arklow Sports & Leisure Centre, Seaview Avenue – with the exact Eircode being Y14 Y992.
A spokesperson for Arklow Community First Responders acknowledged and thanked Coral Leisure Arklow manager Michael Wolohan, Pat Fitzgerald for their assistance in making this happen and to Hilda Arfield for being so accommodating in supplying the necessary power required from her coffee shop.
“We had been searching for a suitable location in that area for a long time and with the installation of the new CCTV it made it ideal,” they said.
“Our goal is to situate these devices in suitable areas that in a Cardiac Emergency a Public Access Defibrillator is never too far away.”
Just recently Arklow’s eleventh Public Access Defibrillator was installed at the train station, with Irish Rail supplying the necessary power to house the life-saving equipment.
