Sincere sympathy is extended to Kate Simpson, Valley Heights her family and relatives on the death of her mother Kate Donohue, nee Byrne Bunclody who died recently.To the family and relatives of Sadie Stedman nee Dowzard, Coolalug House, Tinahely who died last week.To the family and relatives of Josie ODowd, nee Butler Castlewhite, Kilkenny who died and was buried during the week.


Congratulations to the Colaiste Bhride Carnew camogie girls on winning the All Ireland senior B camogie final against Colsiste Mhuire Ennis 4-9 to1-9 recently, well done to all.


Congratulations to Kevin House, Coollattin Road and Michelle Deegan, Gorey who were married on Friday.

Split the Pot 

Congratulations to Conor Byrne, Arklow who was this week’s winner of €214 in our Parents’ Association weekly Split the Pot Draw. Well done to Ali Byrne who won the sellers prize of €20. Remember, if you are not in –  you can’t win!

You can pick up envelopes for Split-the-Pot in a few places in addition to the school – including Shillelagh post office and Aughrim post office. Please let us know if your local shop would like to keep a stock? Don’t forget to get your envelopes for this Friday’s draw back to the school by 2pm on Thursday! Thank you for your support.

Split the Pot – Ballyellis National School

Carnew St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2022

Come enjoy a family day out on St. Patrick’s Day at the Carnew St. Patrick’s Day Parade starting at the earlier time of 12.30pm. The parade will commence on the Gorey Road and continue down the Main Street. Music and parade commentary will take place at the centre of the Main Street, and opposite St. Brigid’s Hall. 

The Carnew St. Patrick’s Day Committee is excited to announce that Edel Kennedy will be our 2022 Grand Marshal. Hailing from Ballisland, Edel plays for Wexford Youths Women FC as a midfielder. In the 2021 FAI Women’s Cup Final, Edel scored a much-lauded goal which ensured her team’s victory. Having had over 200 senior appearances with Wexford Youths Women FC, Edel is an inspirational sports star whose dedication and skill make her an excellent role model for all young sports enthusiasts.
