Irish truckers plan to protest at rising fuel costs

A group representing Irish truckers and haulage companies has announced its intentions to hold a protest against rising fuel costs.

‘Irish Truckers and Haulage Association Against Fuel Prices’ said they are holding a meeting amongst members this week, with a protest due to follow soon.

Posting on Facebook to their audience of over 25,000 accounts, a spokesperson said they have decided “now is the time to stand up to the Government”.

Fuel, oil and gas prices have been increasing, with blame being attributed to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It’s understood the Government are not expected to make a decision on whether to introduce measures to control the price inflation this week.
