A man has died following a single vehicle road traffic collision in Shankill this afternoon.
The man, who was aged in his 80s, was the sole occupant of the car when the collision occurred at approximately 1:30pm on Corbawn Lane.
Gardaí said the man was taken to St Vincent’s University Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
An investigation has been launched and the road remains closed following a request for the Forensic Collision Investigators to attend the scene.
Local diversions have been put in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
