Wicklow Mountain Rescue teams respond to multiple incidents

Wicklow’s Mountain Rescue teams responded to a number of callouts this week.

On Sunday, 13 March the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue were tasked by An Garda Síochána to a report of a female walker with a lower leg injury.

On arrival to the patient location, Mountain Rescue personnel assessed her and administered pain relief.

The patient was then packaged and stretchered down the Miners village and handed over to the National Ambulance Service crew.

In another incident on Tuesday the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team Search Dog unit were called out in the search for a missing person.

The team also used their Drone unit and K9sarni to help in the search. Thankfully the missing person was found safe and well.

The 19th callout of the year occurred on Friday where both Mountain Rescue teams responded to a report of a female walker with a lower leg injury.

SARLOC technology was used to get an exact location of the casualty, which put her close to a driveable track. The patient was moved to rescue base where she was picked up by NAS Ambulance and Crew.
