2022 Wicklow Fleadh Ceol Saturday May 7th

The 2022 Wicklow Fleadh Ceol will take place on Saturday 7th May in Dominican College Wicklow Town, hosted by the Boathouse CCE Wicklow Town.

This year sees the return of the Irish traditional music festival and competitions after 2 long years of cancellations. Musicians young and old from Comhaltas branches across Wicklow – including Avoca Miners, Anne Devlin Aughrim, Tinahealy, Bray, Roundwood, Blessington and Wicklow Town – will flock to Wicklow Town to display the growth and development of musicianship seen only through online zoom classes, socially distancing sessions and learning from afar.

Musicians will compete in solo, duet, trio, Ceili Band and Groupa Ceol competitions on instruments including fiddles, flutes, tin whistle, accordions, banjos, bodhrans, concertinas and harps.

Competitors range from u8 up to senior level with many competitors hoping to secure a coveted top two place to progress to the Leinster Fleadh Ceol taking place in Portlaoise between 8-10th July. This will be followed by the All Ireland Fleadh Ceol in Mullingar 1st-8th August 2022.

Entrance wristbands can be purchased on the day at the entrance of Dominican College from 10am.
