Busy week for Wicklow Fire Services

It has been a busy week for the Fire Services in the county.

On Friday the Greystones unit were called to a fire in the Uplands between Sallygap and Luggala at the bridge made famous by the movie “P.S I Love You” the unit were able to contain the fire and stop it from spreading towards the hilltop.

On Sunday the Greystones unit assisted the Mountain Rescue and the Ambulance service following an incident with a cyclist close to the Sallygap.

Also on Sunday the crews from Carnew and Tinahely attended a single vehicle accident on the R747 at Coolroe close to Coolboy. Thankfully no injuries were reported.

A quick response by the Baltinglass services during a callout to a car on fire in the town stopped the blaze from engulfing another vehicle and a house in the early hours of Monday morning.

On Monday services in Wicklow town were called to a fire at a shed in the town.

On Tuesday night the Fire Services attended a house fire at Elgin Woods in Bray.
