Carnew notes week April 4th


Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Katie McEvoy, Ballingate who died on Thursday, her funeral mass took place on Saturday at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining church yard.

To the family and relatives of Brendan Breen, Kilcavan who died on Saturday and will be buried on Thursday in Tomacork cemetery.

To Elizabeth Myers, Ballingate her  family and relatives on the death of her mother  Mary (Moll) O’Toole nee Mordaunt, Ballythomas who died recently and was buried in Killavaney cemetery.

To Elizabeth Cogley. Coollattin Road her family and relatives on the death of her brother Denis (Chuck) Deegan, Gorey who died recently.

To Sadie Kinsella, Gorey Road her family and relatives on the death of her brother William(Bill) Kinch, Ferns Lower, who died recently.


GAA lotto was not won numbers were 13,25,28,32, lucky dips were Pat OKeffe and Mai Murphy. The next draw is 11th April and the jackpot is €10,400, tickets are €2 and can be bought on line or at any local shop.

Holy Saturday 16th April Coolfancy 5.30pm. Shillelagh 6.45pm, Carnew 8.00pm. Askamore 6pm, Kilrush 7.30pm. Confessions Good Friday Carnew 10am-12 noon.

Penitential Service in Askamore on Monday 11th April at 7pm and Kilrush at 8pm.


Congratulations to Abbey Doran with her recitation who will now go forward to the All Ireland final in Killarney representing Wicklow and to the Lambert family in the Ceol Uirlise who are also through, well done and the very best of luck.
