Wicklow Gaol to hold event to show solidarity with people of Ukraine

The management of Wicklow Historic Gaol has announced an event will take place next week to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

Taking place on Thursday, 14 April, attendees are asked to light a candle and a minute’s silence will also be observed.

“This is an opportunity to publicly come together to acknowledge the injustice of what is happening to the Ukrainian people,” said a spokesperson, adding that “everyone is welcome”.

The occasion will be led by lone piper Mr Joe Hanlon.
