First Holy Communion

Congratulations to our 2nd class pupils who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday 14th May in Askamore Church.  A lovely day was had by all.  

SPLIT THE POT 

The lucky winner of our split the pot draw for Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew who won €228 was Jennifer Cullen. Congratulations. 

The seller’s prize winner who won €10e was Adam Collins and the lucky dip winner was Adam Byrne.

Thank you for your continued support. Our next split the pot draw takes place next Friday 20th May.

FAMILY FUN DAY 

Askamore Community Council are hosting a Family Fun Day on Sunday, June 5th 2022 from 2.00pm (Directly after the Patron Mass)

€10 admission per family and all proceeds go towards the new wheelchair accessible bathroom and baby changing facilities in the Church Grounds/Le Cheile Park. 

Kids Disco, BBQ, Face painting, Family games, market stalls & lots more. 

POP UP GARDA STATION 

There will be a POP UP GARDA STATION in Askamore Hall on Wednesday May 18th 2022 from 10am – 12 noon Get your forms signed.Advice on home and personal security.Drop in for a chat or just to say hello.This is fantastic for our community and with everyone’s support we can make this a monthly event. Everyone welcome. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Chamber Music Recital

We are so pleased to announce that our second Chamber Music Recital is scheduled for Saturday 4th June in the Pillared Drawing Room in Coollattin House.

Refreshments from 7pm. Concert commencing at 7.30pm.

Our programme will include Wind Quintet music of Mozart, Jacques Ibert, Samuel Barber, HK Schmid and Ferenc Farkas performed by The Fitzwilliam Ensemblefeaturing solo wind players of the RTE Concert Orchestra.

Tinahely Craft Market

The Tinahely Craft market is now open on Friday as well as Saturdays… opening hours are 10-4 pm. There is a great selection of beautifully crafted pieces which make ideal gifts ….please come along and support your local artisans…

Communions will take place in Shillelagh Saturday 21st May 11am. Confirmation will take place in Coolfancy Friday 27th May 11am, Carnew Thursday 9th June 11am, and Wednesday 29th June 11am.

The annual patrons are back this year Tomacork Sunday 24th July 2pm, Carnew 24th July 1.15pm, Coolfancy Sunday 31st July 2pm, Shillelagh Sunday 14th August 2pm. Askamore Sunday June 5th at 1pm, Kilrush Sunday July 31st at 1pm.

CARNEW AGRICULTURE SHOWCARNEW

Agricultural show society will hold their annual show on Saturday 16th July more details to follow. Great to see it back again.

GOLDEN JUBILEE 

Fr Joe Power from Kilrush is celebrating his golden jubilee on Sunday 29th May at 2pm in Kilrush followed by refreshments in Grennans Big Barn, mass will be celebrated by Bishop Ger Nash all welcome.

KNOCK
