SYMPATHY 

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Margaret Payton, Glasnevin and formerly Dagge, Deerpark, Shillelagh who died recently and was buried on Tuesday in Tomacork cemetery.

To the family and relatives of Nancy Dempsey, Community Village and England who died recently and was buried on Tuesday in Coolfancy cemetery.

AWARD 

Congratulations to Kevin McEvoy and his crew on receiving the award for best lighting with Bunclody/Kilmyshal drama group last week in Athlone.

COMMUNION 

God bless the children from Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew who made their First Holy Communion on Sunday 15th and Ballyroebuck national school who made their communion on Saturday 21st.

COLAISTE BHRIDE 

Congratulations to the winner of Split the Pot final draw.  Florrie Bower from Main Street, Carnew won the jackpot of €719!

There were four seller’s prize winners.  They were Brid Doyle 6th year, Brendan Bolger 5th year, Harry Burke  1st Year and Michael Butler 5th Year. 

Thanks to everyone for their support throughout the year. 

Congratulations to the boys football team who won their final on Wednesday evening in Aughrim well done.

The lucky winner of our split the pot draw for Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew who won €210 was Margaret Doran. Congratulations.

The winner of our seller’s prize who won €10 was Brayden House and the lucky dip winner was Adam Collins.Our next split the pot draw takes place on Friday 27th May.

Family Fun Day

Askamore Community Council are hosting a Family Fun Day on Sunday, June 5th 2022 from 2.00pm (Directly after the Patron Mass)

€10 admission per family and all proceeds go towards the new wheelchair accessible bathroom and baby changing facilities in the Church Grounds/Le Cheile Park. 

Kids Disco, BBQ, Face painting, Family games, market stalls & lots more. 

Chamber Music Recital

We are so pleased to announce that our second Chamber Music Recital is scheduled for Saturday 4th Junein the Pillared Drawing Room in Coollattin House.

Refreshments from 7pm. Concert commencing at 7.30pm.

Our programme will include Wind Quintet music of Mozart, Jacques Ibert, Samuel Barber, HK Schmid and Ferenc Farkas performed by The Fitzwilliam Ensemble featuring solo wind players of the RTE Concert Orchestra.

The Tinahely Craft market is now open on Friday as well as Saturdays… opening hours are 10-4 pm. There is a great selection of beautifully crafted pieces which make ideal gifts ….please come along and support your local artisans…

The annual patrons are back this year Tomacork Sunday 24th July 2pm, Carnew 24th July 1.15pm, Coolfancy Sunday 31st July 2pm, Shillelagh Sunday 14th August 2pm. Askamore Sunday June 5th at 1pm, Kilrush Sunday July 31st at 1pm.

Agricultural show society will hold their annual show on Saturday 16th July more details to follow.

Great to see it back again.

GOLDEN JUBILEE 

Fr Joe Power from Kilrush is celebrating his golden jubilee on Sunday 29th May at 2pm in Kilrush followed by refreshments in Grennans Big Barn, mass will be celebrated by Bishop Ger Nash all welcome. There will be no mass in Kilrush at 10am on that day.

KNOCK 

The annual pilgrimage to knock from ASKAMORE will take place on 4th and 5th July contact Mary Kenny on 0861541948.
