Donate Don’t Waste clothing and home textiles pilot coming to Arklow

Join the Donate Don’t Waste Arklow launch on 18 May, 3:30pm at St. Mary’s College concert hall. This exciting innovation & demonstration project aims to make clothing and home textile donations easier and reduce textile waste in Ireland. Arklow has been selected as a pilot area for the Donate Don’t Waste separate textiles collection pilot, part of Community Resources Network Ireland’s (CRNI) innovation and demonstration project, Developing a Circular Textiles System for Ireland, to inform national policy. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP), Wicklow County Council and St. Mary’s College are involved in the project.

Community members can participate in two clothing and home textiles collections that will be taking place: the first on 25 May from 3:30-5:30pm at St. Mary’s College car park and the second on 1 June from 10am-3pm at Arklow Recycling Centre. Donations will benefit SVP – Vincent’s Charity Shops East Region.

They can also take the clothing and home textiles survey at and have a chance to win one of six All4One vouchers.

This project is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Enterprise: Innovation for a Circular Economy grant-aid funding programme.
