Free bus service to launch between Laragh and Glendalough to tackle increased traffic volumes

Wicklow County Council has announced a new bus service connecting Glendalough and Laragh will launch in the coming months.

The new service, which will be free, is being launched as part of the council’s new weekend traffic management arrangements to tackle the high volumes of cars entering Laragh village to visit Glendalough and surrounding areas.

From June 4 the new bus shuttle service will run from the Laragh carpark off the R755 to the Glendalough Visitor Centre on weekends and public holidays.

Currently the service is to run for the entire summer and due to finish up at the end of August.

The council has urged those visiting the area to help reduce traffic volumes by using public transport options, cycling, car pooling and parking in designated areas.
