Funeral arrangements for Fr. Joseph announced

The funeral arrangements for popular priest Fr. Joseph Doran were announced this afternoon.

The communities of Barndarrig, Newtownmountkennedy and beyond were stunned to learn of his sudden passing last Saturday.

Speaking today Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council Cllr Shay Cullen said “The community are devastated at the passing of Fr. Joseph, he will be a massive loss to the community, I knew him very well as we grew up together and went to school in De La Salle in Wicklow, I wish to offer my condolences to his family both on behalf of my family and Wicklow County Council.”

Funeral details

Fr. Joseph will repose at Patrick Murray and Son’s Funeral Home, (WALK THROUGH ONLY), Main Street, Newtownmountkennedy tomorrow Wednesday from 5pm followed by removal to St. Joseph’s Church, Newtownmountkennedy for reception prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11.30am which will be streamed live and may be viewed by clicking here. Fr. Joseph will be interred in Kilmurray Cemetery immediately after Mass.
