Wicklow’s Katie Taylor has come out on top after a brilliant contest in Madison Square Gardens in New York.

Amanda Serrano looked like she had the fight in the bag after the 4th round, where Taylor looked bloodied and dazed as she went to her corner but turned the fight around to win on a split decision with the judges scoring 94-96, 97-93, 96-93 in favour of the Bray woman.

It is now 21 wins and no defeats for Katie.

Speaking after the fight Eddie Hearn said it would be great to see a re-match in Croke Park.
