Gardai in Wicklow town are investigating a road traffic collision which took place on Castle Street on Tuesday afternoon.
A pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car.
Two men were arrested at the scene and taken to Wicklow Garda Station.
Gardai sealed off a section of Castle Street to carry out a forensic examination of the area and made house to house enquiries.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or drivers who may have dashcam footage to contact them at Wicklow Garda Station on 0404 67107.
