The Emergency Times Social Media report Emergency services and Gardai are at the scene of a fire at a business premises and overhead apartment units in Carlow Town.
A car is understood to have driven into the shop front window before the fire which occurred on Tullow Street in the town.
Residents who live above the shop were immediately evacuated.
Fire Brigade crews from Carlow Town and Bagenalstown fire station are at the scene since early this morning.
Tullow Street is closed from both ends. Gardaí are investigating the incident.
